Our vision is to be a relatable, tangible example to give belief and inspiration to everyone that they can DREAM big, DARE to strive to reach those dreams and start their journey towards DO-ing and achieving those dreams.
It is widely evidenced that sport and exercise provides life long benefits to body and mind. We understand the importance of physical wellness for mental wellbeing and no where will that be more important than on the Pacific Ocean; fatigue, hunger, sleep deprivation, pain, fear are but a few of the emotions that will attempt to overpower us during our 2400 mile crossing.
Mates in Mind is a charity that works closely with employers to ensure all their employees are well supported and have accessible, easy access to mental health advice. This is very close to our hearts and four women with very full lives managing our mental health and resilience is of key importance. We want to make sure all employees feel well supported and feel able to #starttheconversation.
Harlequins Foundation is an independent charity, for which Vicki is an ambassador, has a fantastic element promoting the empowering effect of sport and activity and managing and addressing the conversation of mental wellbeing. Their goal ‘Building Brighter Futures’ and want to encourage the power of sport are also passions that run strongly with all of us. Their flagship programmes work hard to develop tomorrow's female leaders and also develop skills to improve physical health and mental well being to 9-12 year olds, an absolutely vital age. They are increasing awareness around mental health and supporting preventative provision for young people.
Inspiring Girls International is a charity dedicated to raising the aspirations of young girls around the world by connecting them with female role models and encouraging them to aim high…...sound familiar?! It did to us as well. Our values align so strongly with Inspiring Girls and we want to be part of that network of role models inspiring girls to stand up and be counted. With hard work and determination you can be whatever you want to be. All of us have jobs that historically have been thought of as ‘male’ therefore being a strong role model for young girls, showing them that they can break through the ‘glass ceiling’, break the mould and not be constrained by any preconceived ideas or societal ‘norms’ is of great importance to us and a matter that sits closely to our hearts.
We want everyone to believe in their potential, believe that they too, can have big dreams and be proud to stand up and fight for them……... and seeing is believing! DREAM DARE DO!
