My Ride or Die…

Today was our first outing on the water as a team. On a beautiful day with smooth waters, Orlagh made her debut!

It reminded me of the first time I had ever been on the oars. Feeling exhilarated but clueless, loving the simplicity of the movement but also getting used to all the unexpected aspects of it that make ocean rowing so different to being on a rowing machine.

Orlagh absolutely smashed it. We all began this process as novices, but Orlagh has had just 5 months to get into the process - and she will only get a few hours of rowing time before setting off for 60 days across the open ocean. If that’s not inspiring, I don’t know what is.
