The current work record is 62 days, 18 hours, 36 minutes set by Pacific Terrific in 2018.
We are training hard to break the current world record for a Women’s CLASSIC trio.
We are fortunate to have a precedent before us to inspire our journey and have spent time analysing the data from their crossing. There are so many variables, so this is not a simple case of aiming to compete or compare, but it shows us what we can expect. That it took Pacific Terrific 5 weeks to really hit their stride - that in weeks 5 and 6 they were doing double the distance of week 1.
The final two weeks, they really put the accelerator down coming into Hawaii. Their overall average speed was 1.61 knots which gives us something to aim for. But we cannot predict the weather, nor how we will individually respond to the conditions or the challenge!
